Welcome to the first round of Art History M(art)ch Madness, where the greatest Western artists face off. It’s a single-elimination tournament modeled after the NCAA basketball tourney.

Here’s how it’s going to work: Every day this week I’ll post one of four regional brackets, using the seedings I posted over the last two weeks.  I decided to scramble the historic eras to create more interesting match ups.  You’ll get to vote and decide you advances and who goes home. Use whatever criteria you want. We’ll winnow the field from 64 to 32 to 16 etc.
